Humble coach driver Dave Taylor was rewarded for his outstanding 20 year service to Gillingham Football Club at an annual awards ceremony on Saturday 25th April.
Held at the Priestfield stadium, Dave Taylor was taken by surprise as The Gills' chairman, Paul Scally, commended Dave for his outstanding service to the club.
"This really was a total surprise - I went along to the awards dinner but I had no idea I would actually win one," said modest Dave. "Nevertheless, it really is a privilege to be The Gills' coach driver and has been for the past 20 years."
Dave received a standing ovation from the club's players, chairman and supporters as he accepted his award.
"All I can say is well done Dave!" said Danny Elford, commercial director at The Kings Ferry. "It's so fantastic that Dave's loyalty to The Gills has been recognised and may he continue driving them for many years."
Dave has proudly driven for Gillingham Football Club since the 1980s and is head of corporate services at The Kings Ferry, managing all VIP coach hire. This accolade comes shortly after Dave won the Kent Regional News & Media Unsung Hero award for his service to The Gills.
